WILLIE "COOTER" MERCER Funeral services for Mr. Willie "Cooter" Mercer, 81, of Mangham will be at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, September 14, 1995 at Lone Cherry Baptist Church near Mangham, LA with Rev.'s Thomas Rich, Gary Garris and J. W. Allen officiating. Burial will be in Lone Cherry Baptist Church Cemetery under the direction of Mulhearn Funeral Home of Winnsboro, LA. Mr. Mercer died September 12, 1995 in Rayville, LA. Mr. Mercer was a retired farmer, a Member of Lone Cherry Baptist Church, and lifelong resident of Mangham, LA. Mr. Mercer was preceded in death by 2 sons, Harvey Mercer and Sidney Mercer; his mother, Mrs. Alma Mercer; his father, Mr. John Mercer, Sr.; 3 brothers, Jesse Mercer, Sr., W. A. "Buddy" Mercer and Lonnie Mercer; and 1 sister, Mrs. Geraldine Mercer. Survivors include his wife of 59 years: Mrs. Audie Weems Mercer of Mangham; 1 brother and 1 sister: John Mercer, Jr. and Lannie Mercer Brunson, both of Mangham; 4 sons and 3 daughters-in-law: Stanley and Bobbie Mercer, Pete and Laverne Mercer, Kenny and Vicki Mercer, and Tommy Mercer, all of Mangham, LA; 8 daughters and sons- in-law: Ruth and Alton Jeansonne of Mandeville, LA, Rose and Billy Ray Jones of Hebert, LA, Dott and Dee Faircloth of Vidalia, LA; Jewel and Jerry Barton, Judy and David Barton, Trudy and Roy Wiggins, Sr., Wanda and George Thames, Deborah and Wayne Poindexter, all of Mangham, LA; 28 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild and a host of nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Claude Mercer, Billy Joe Mercer, Charles Mercer, Jay Mercer, Ronnie Mercer and Doc Mercer. Honorary Pallbearers will be Doug White, Doug Tannehill, and Jerry Simmons.
