Pickett Zilpha Copes Pickett, loving wife, mother and grandmother was born on December 3, 1928 and passed away on January 2,2005. She will be remembered by friends and family from her days of work at their family operated grocery store. Others may remember her as a devoted teacher and avid church member. Her love for travel, art projects, and family brought joy to her life. Funeral services were held Wednesday, January 5, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Delhi with Dr. Connie Ward and Dr. Marcus Murphy officiating. Mrs. Pickett was preceded in death by her parents, Combs Copes Sr, and Nannie Lynn McVoy Copes; a brother, Combs Copes Jr.; and a daughter-in-law,”Trissie” Pickett. She is survived by her husband, L.W. Pickett of Delhi; a son Larry W. Pickett and his wife, Pamela of West Monore; a daughter, Marilyn Dosher and her fiance’, Wayne Worsley of Delhi; a sister-in-law, Mae Dean Copes of Pioneer; and her grandchildren; Danna deGravelle of Shreveport; Amanda Arledge of West Monroe, Lauren Davis of New Orleans; Adam Pickett, of Ruston and Ben Burch of West Monroe. Pallbearers were Wayne Worsley and her grandsons and grandsons-in-law; Rob Arledge, Martin de Gravelle, Adam Pickett, Heath Davis and Ben Burch. The family would like to expree special thanks to Mary Alice Stephens, Jan Tarver, Mary Nielsen and Shelby Brock along with doctors Kenneth McDonald and Cory Albrittion and the staff of Delhi Hospital.
