A. Boies as principal, and J. W. Baker as security, are held And firmly bound unto Wm. H. Prewitt Clerk of the 12 District Count, in and for the Parish of Franklin, State of Louisiana, and his successors in office, for the time being in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, and for the true and final payment thereof, we bind ourselves, our heirs, administrators and assigns. Signed and dated on this Fourth day of December 1867. The Condition of the above obligation is such that whereas, a Marriage is about to take place between the above bound E. A. Boies and Miss Emma Prewitt and if there shall exist no legal impediments why the Marriage should not take place, then the above obligation to be void, else to remain in full force and virtue according to law. Boies and Miss Emma Prewitt, both residents of the State aforesaid and to solemnize and Celebrate the said Marriage between Parties as above named, according To the Laws and Customs of the State of Louisiana, and make your return hereof as the Law directs, and this shall be your authority for doing so.
