Hoben and Miss Annie Cooper Richland Parish Courthouse, Book A, page 317 Reads as follows: State of Louisiana Parish of Richland and Clerks Office 14th (unreadable) To any Ordained Minister of the Gospel: or to any Justice of the Peace: Greetings: You are hereby authorized and empowered to unite in the Bonds of Matrimony and Holy Wedlock Mr. P. J. Hoben and Miss Annie Cooper both residents of the aforesaid State and to Solemnize and Celebrate the Marriage between Said Parties according to the laws and customs of this State and make your return here of, as the law directs, and this is your Authority for so doing. Given under my hand and Seal office on this 10th day of June 1872. Name unreadable State of Louisiana Parish of Richland I hereby Certify that I have on this day in pursuance of the foregoing License Celebrated and Solemnized a Marriage between Mr. P. J. Hoben and Miss Annie Cooper agreeable in the Law and Customs of the State of Louisiana. The condition of the above Obligation is Such That where as a marriage is about to take place between the above bound P.J. Hoben and Annie Cooper and if there shall exist no legal impediment why the Marriage should not take place then the Above obligation to be void; else to remain in full force and virtue, according to law.
