Parish of Richland	}		27th District Court
To any Ordained Minister of the Gospel, or to any Justice of the Peace ~ 
Greeting:
	You are hereby authorized and empowered to unite in the Bonds of 
Matrimony
and Holy Wedlock, Mr R C Holly and
Miss Katie Smith both residents of the State
aforesaid, and to solemnize and celebrate the said Marriage between said 
parties, according to the laws
and customs of this State, and make your return hereof, as the law directs, 
and this is your authority for so doing.
		Given under my hand and Seal of Office, on this 9
			day of June 1891.

State of Louisiana  ~  Parish of Richland
I hereby certify, That I have, on this day, in pursuance to the foregoing 
License, celebrated
and solemnized a marriage between Mr R C Holly
and Miss Katie Smith agreeably to the laws and customs of the State of 
Louisiana.
In faith whereof, I have together with the parties, and in the presence of the 
undersigned
witnesses signed this present on this  (blank) day of (blank) 189(blank).

Know All Men By These Presents:
	That we, R C Holly as principal
and W H Scott as security, are held and firmly
bound unto G B Brumly Clerk of the 27th District Court, in and for the
Parish of Richland, State of Louisiana, and his successors in office, for the 
time being, in the sum
of Five Hundred Dollars, and for the true and final payment thereof, we bind 
ourselves, our heirs,
administrators and assigns.
	Signed and dated on this 9 day of June 1891.
The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas a Marriage is about 
to take place between
the above bound R C Holly and
Miss Katie Smith and if there shall exist no legal
impediments why the Marriage should not take place, then the above obligation 
to be void; else to
remain in full force and virtue, according to law.
Signed and acknowledged before me on the date first above written.

Additional Comments:
NOTE:  Katie Smith was born 1872 in Richland Parish, LA to Thomas R Smith and 
Mary Harris who married 17 Jan 1867 in Carroll Parish, LA.  Robert C Holly is 
found on the 1880 Richland Parish census living in the household of widower, 
John B Davis, one of the witnesses listed here.
  
As to the other individuals mentioned, G B Brumby  is probably Gershon B 
Brumby b 1848 AL found in Richland Parish on the 1880 census in Delhi.  
Fleming M Calvit b 1866 LA is found in Richland Parish on the 1880 census 
w/mother Mary A and siblings Ada W, Sallie C & George W.
