Given under my hand and Seal of Office, on this 9 day of June 1891. G. R C Holly John B Davis Katie x Smith F M Calvit E E Tharp Minister Gospel Know All Men By These Presents: That we, R C Holly as principal and W H Scott as security, are held and firmly bound unto G B Brumly Clerk of the 27th District Court, in and for the Parish of Richland, State of Louisiana, and his successors in office, for the time being, in the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, and for the true and final payment thereof, we bind ourselves, our heirs, administrators and assigns. Signed and dated on this 9 day of June 1891. The Condition of the above Obligation is such that whereas a Marriage is about to take place between the above bound R C Holly and Miss Katie Smith and if there shall exist no legal impediments why the Marriage should not take place, then the above obligation to be void; else to remain in full force and virtue, according to law. Robert C Holly is found on the 1880 Richland Parish census living in the household of widower, John B Davis, one of the witnesses listed here. As to the other individuals mentioned, G B Brumby is probably Gershon B Brumby b 1848 AL found in Richland Parish on the 1880 census in Delhi. Fleming M Calvit b 1866 LA is found in Richland Parish on the 1880 census w/mother Mary A and siblings Ada W, Sallie C & George W.
