Sanders was born July 22, 1887, near Rattan postoffice, is a son os W. J. Sanders, and was reared on a farm in Sabine parish. He attended the public schools, principally at Florien, secured a first grade certificate and entered the teaching profession at the age of 17. Desiring to equip himself for a more useful life, he entered the Louisiana Sate University in 1904, from which he graduated four years later, with the degree of Mater of arts; he was senior captain of the corps of cadets and president of this class. He then completed one year's work in law at the same institution. For the past three years he has been principal of the Sabine Literary and Agricultural High School at Oak Grove, three miles east of Converse, where he has rendered most satisfactory service, and has been re elected principal for the session of 1913-'14. # # #
