EBENEZER BAPTIST CHURCH
Florien

Ebenezer Baptist church was organized in September, 1882.  Rev. Edward Duggan
served as the first moderator, assisted by Rev. Zachariah Corley and Rev.
Sorrell.

Rev. Duggan said, "We will put the responsibility of naming the church on
Brother Zachariah Corley."  Brother Corley spoke up and said, "Brethren, we
will name her Ebenezer". 

The committee consisted of Rev. Edward Duggan, Rev. sorrell, Bro. T. J. Bush
(recording officer), and Rev. Zachariah Corley.  There were 26 charter
members, however only 20 are listed:

Brother and Sister J. A. Taylor
Brother and Sister J. H. Chance
Brother and Siter L. W. Gentry
