Parish Court, Parish of Natchitoches State of Louisiana
Personally came and appeared in Open Court, Peter Buvens,
who being duly sworn according to law, deplores and says:
That he was born in Belgium in A D 1789, that he arrived at
New Orleans in the United States in the year 1839 and in
                                          in January
the Parish of Natchitoches in the year A D 1839 and has
lived here since that time and that it is his bona fide
intention to become a citizen of the United States and to
severance all allegiance and fealty to any foreign prince,
potentate, state or sovernty whatever + particularly to
Leopold: actual King of Belgium whose subject he is.

day of February 1842
