Ala Enl: Feb 1862.....A Co. 38th AlaInf Officer's at enlistment: Col Charles Ketchum, Capt Wm Harrendon, Capt Daniel Lee and Col Joe Johnson Commanding. Service: Never wounded or captured. Surrendered at Kilby (sp) Station, Meridian Missippi. Personal History: Paralyzed on right side; Married but wife died c. 1885: 1 Married daughter age 28 (b.c. 1872) 1 Single son 26 (b.c.1874). Lived previously in Desoto Parish: now living Noble, Sabine Parish La.; Occupation Farmer (before disability). Date of Application: Aug 1900. Status: Pension Approved #3165/1589 Notes: John's Father was Matthew Albert Presnall, Sgt A Co. 38th AlaInf. who died in the Battle of Chickamunga.
