Special to The Times. Many, La., June 26. - Information was received here yesterday that at 8 o'clock a.m., Dr. James Litton, who had been shot by John Brown at Noble, had expired from the effects of his wounds, Dr. J. V. Nash, coroner, took passage on the north bound passenger train for Noble to hold an inquest. Defendant pleads extenuating circumstances. On the contrary, it is said, the deceased and the wife of the slayer have stated his suspicions were not well founded.
