Abington 8 Apr 1938 - Funeral services for W. E. Abington, who died at Converse sanitarium Monday morning, were held at Old Union Baptist church in DeSoto parish Tuesday morning at 10:30, with the Dennis Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. Rev. Butler Abington of Fort Smith, Ark., son of the deceased, assisted by Rev. Cecil Williams, pastor of First Baptist church of Many, conducted the funeral services. Mr. Abington was born and reared in Sabine parish. He was married to Miss Maggie Butler of DeSoto parish, who died at her home here 11 years ago. Mr. Abington is survived by the following children: Quarles Abington of Rio Grande City, Texas, D. C. Abington, Many; Rev. Butler Abington, Fort Smith, Ark., Ray Abington, Hamburg, Ark; Mrs. Katie Abington Gilbert of Austin, Texas; two sisters, Mrs. W. H. Vandegaer, Many and Mrs. Sam Rains, Pleasant Hill; two brothers, Dr. Tom Abington of Zimmerman, and Mack Abington, Many; and several grandchildren and a large number of nieces and nephews and other relatives.
