Abington, 76, of West Memphis, Ark., were recently held. Dr. Abington passed away on Thursday, Sept. 24. Dr. Abington was born and raised in Many, and was ordained into the ministry at the Baptist Church at Fort Jessup, of which he was a member. He pastored at the Trinity Baptist Church in Lake Charles many years, and was closely affiliated with the Louisiana Baptist Convention. Dr. Abington later moved to West Memphis, Ark., and became the pastor of the First Baptist Church in West Memphis, until his retirement. Dr. Abington is survived by his widow, Mary Abington; two sons, Bobby Abington, and Jimmy Abington; one daughter, Mary Catherine Abington; one sister, Katherine Abington; two brothers, Doug Abington of Many, and Ray Abington of Pine Bluff, Ark.; grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
