Averett, a native of Tuscaloosa, Ala., and a resident of Mobile for the past 48 years, died in a local hospital on Monday, Jan. 30, 1989. Mr. Averett is survived by his wife, Mrs. Lou Sibley Averett of Mobile; two daughters, Janet Sue Clark of Birmingham, and Pamela Lou Hurst of Atmore, Ala.; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Clifton C. Averett of Mobile; one brother, Joe B. Averett of Mobile four grandchildren, Robert Averett Clark, Pamela Susan Clark, both of Birmingham, Christopher Dale Hurst, and Anna Janette Hurst, both of Atmore, and other relatives. His wife, Mrs. Lou Sibley Averett is a native of Negreet, La. Her parents were the late Mr. and Mrs. Ernest Sibley. Mrs. Averett's brother, Lee Sibley, and sister, Florie Miller, both live at Negreet. Funeral services were held at the Chapel of Radney Funeral Home on Thursday, Feb. 2, 1989, at 11 a.m., with interment in Serenity Memorial Gardens.
