Eddie Ashby

  Services for Eddie Ashby, 80, were at 1 p.m., Tuesday, Jan. 22,
in the Springridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. J. P. King
officiating. Burial followed in the Springridge Cemetery.
Arrangements were under the direction of Druitt Funeral Home of
Mansfield.

  Mr. Ashby died Saturday, Jan. 19, in a Shreveport nursing home,
following a lengthy illness.

  Survivors include one son, Edmund D. James of Pleasant Hill; two
daughters, Mrs. G. R. Carter of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Sammy
Palazzo of Braithwaite; three stepsons, Nolan T. Ashby, and Jesse
W. Ashby, both of Bossier City; and James C. Ashby of Leesville;
one stepdaughter, Mrs. Harold Jones of Louisville, Ky.; one
brother, George N. Cole of Coushatta; and 13 grandchildren.
