All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Jesse Clarence Ashby Mr. Jesse Clarence Ashby, 77, of Blanchard, died at 4:50 a.m., Friday, Oct. 31, at the Willis-Knighton Medical Center, following a brief illness. Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 3, at 10 a.m., at the First Baptist Church of Blanchard. The Rev. Lawrence Cochrell, the Rev. M. H. Godwin, and the Rev. Gene Lindsey officiated. Burial was held at the Blanchard Cemetery, under the direction of the Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Mr. Ashby was a native of Sabine Parish, and a resident of Blanchard for 36 years. He was a member of the Blanchard Church of the Nazarene, and a retired Caddo Parish Highway Department employee. Mr. Ashby is survived by his widow, Gladys Ellzey Ashby; three daughters, Loretta Hayes, Bobbie Hayes of Blanchard, Margarete Helms, Tyler, Tex.; one son, James Ashby of Blanchard; seven brothers; two sisters; fifteen grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren.
