Officiating at the services was the Rev. Robert Ripson of the Christ Memorial Episcopal Church. Burial was in the Highland Cemetery. Mr. Asseff died at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, March 25, at his residence, following a long illness. He was 73. A native of Mansfield, Mr. Asseff was a merchant for many years. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Helen Ellis Asseff of Mansfield, two daughters, Mrs. Mary V. Martren of Morgan City, and Mrs. Barbara Creamer of Jacksonville, Ark.; five sons, George Asseff II, and Robert Asseff, both of Mansfield, Sam Asseff of Colorado Springs, Colo., Dr. Walter Asseff of Shreveport, and John Asseff of Zwolle; three sisters, Miss Amelia Asseff, Miss Laura Asseff, and Miss Emma Asseff, all of Mansfield; one sister-in-law, Mrs. Lillie Asseff of Shreveport; one brother, Dr. Emmett Asseff of Mansfield; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; and two nephews.
