Agan Jr., 70, of Minden, were held Saturday, May 6, 1989, at the First Baptist Church in Minden. Dr. Ronald Prince officiated, and was assisted by Dr. Julian Fagan. Burial was in the Gardens of Memory in Minden. Mr. Agan died in his sleep, quietly and peacefully, as he lived, on Friday, May 5, 1989. He accepted Jesus Christ as his savior at an early age, and had lived for him all the days of his life. He had served the First Baptist Church as a Deacon since 1946, and had taught 16 year old boys for 52 years. He served as a trustee, was a life deacon, and served on many committees. He was a faithful servant to the God he loved. In 1936, he began to work for the local Ford dealer, Andress Motor Company, and was currently working for J. C. Johnson Ford in Minden, spanning over 52 years. He entered the U.S. Army in 1941, and served through three major campaigns, under General Patton in Africa, Sicily, and Italy. He received his discharge in 1945, and returned to Minden. He is survived by his wife of over 40 years, Juanita Murphy Agan of Minden; by his son, John A. Agan of Minden; and his daughter, Suzanne Agan Jamison, and her husband, Robert D. Jameson of Minden; three grandsons, John Robert, David, and Paul Jameson of Minden; one brother, Emerson B. Agan of Zwolle; an aunt and uncle, Mr. and Mrs. Gladden Emerson Sr. of Shreveport; one nephew, Steven Agan of Birmingham, Ala. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home in Minden, La.
