Akins, 48, of Bossier City, were held at 2 p.m., Sunday, January 5, at Rose-Neath's Bossier Chapel. The Rev. C. E. Warren, pastor of St. Stephen's United Methodist Church, where Mrs. Akins was a member, officiated. Burial was at Pleasant Valley Cemetery near Dixie Inn, La. Mrs. Akins died Friday, January 3, 1986, in Bossier City, after a long illness. She was born in Minden, La., and had been a resident of Bossier City most of her life. Mrs. Akins was a legal secretary with A. Wyche, Attorney. She is survived by her husband, Mr. James R. Akins, Sr. of Bossier City; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Elton Greene of Minden; two sons, Nicholas K. Akins, and daughter-in-law, Donna B. Akins, and Richard N. Akins of Bossier City; a step son, James R. Akins, Jr. of Many; one daughter, Patricia Ann Akins of Bossier City; her mother-in-law, Carrie Salter of Bossier City; two brothers, James E. Greene, and Bobby M. Greene of Minden. Pallbearers were Johnie Johnson, W. W. Johnson, Aylmer Wyche III, Galey Honaker, Norm Bale, and Frank Fitzgerald. Honorary pallbearers were Mrs. Flo Bigby, Mrs. Aylmer Wyche III, Mr. and Mrs. David Smelley, Mr. and Mrs. Valjean Spence, Dr. Michael Moore.
