The Sabine Index - Mrs. Roy Alford

  9 Sep 1938 - Funeral services for Mrs. Roy Alford of Florien
were conducted at the First Baptist church Friday, August 26,
Brother Ernest Lilly, pastor of the Florien Baptist and Bro.
C. W. Williams of the First Baptist church, officiating.

  Mrs. Alford had been in ill health for several months, though
her passing away was a distinct shock to her friends and
relatives.

  She was a very active church and school worker, loved by all
who knew her.  Her absence will be keenly felt by her family
and associates.

  She is survived by her husband and daughter, Nancy Carolin;
parents, Mr. and Mrs. and Mrs. C. C. Thatch; sisters, Velma
Thatch, and Mrs. J. D. Hinton of Jackson, Miss., and Tom Hatch.

  Pallbearers were:  A. V. McLanahan, Max Dover, Ernest Allen,
Winfred Williams, A. L. Head, Otho Miller and R. T. Martin.
