Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, August 12, in the Oak Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. O. H. Prothro officiating, assisted by the Rev. Travis McCullough. Burial was in the Oak Hill Cemetery under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his widow, two daughters, Mrs. Versia Fleming, Mansfield, and Mrs. Yvonne Miller, Keithville; a brother, Percy Alford of Florien; five sisters, Mrs. O. L. Ammons, Mrs. Robert Tarpley, Mrs. Harold Maxey, Mrs. Horace Maxey and Mrs. Coleman Hippler, all of Many; and three grandchildren. Pallbearers were nephews Howard Tarpley, George Maxey, Hubert Hippler, Truitt Alford, Curtis Maxey, R. L. Randolph. Honorary pallbearers were Theo Jeter, Sr, Louis Maxey, Reuben Woodle, Howard Brandon.
