All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Sharlet Layrain Alford Mrs. Sharlet Layrain Alford, 41, of Many, died Friday, Aug. 7, 1987, in an automobile accident, on Hwy. 6, west of Many. Services were held Sunday, Aug. 9, at 2 p.m., at Friendship Baptist Church, where she and her husband, Jerry Wayne Alford, were married February 8, 1964. They were the first couple to be married in the church. Officiating were the Reverends Steve Spears, Percy Tibbits, and Bob Colquette. Burial was in Friendship Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Music was provided by Barbara Allen, Charlotte Greer, Flora Farrar, and Gary and Beth Allen. Pallbearers were her nephews, Steven Procell, Greg Bell, Paul Webb, Gary Tedder, David Oliver, and Kelvin Clark. Mrs. Alford was preceded in death by her parents, Zack and Tessie Brumley. She is survived by her husband, Jerry Wayne Alford; one son and daughter-in-law, Kevin Wayne and Melissa Alford; one daughter and son-in-law, Trina and Keith Gentry; one granddaughter, Laura Danielle Alford; two brothers, Wilson Brumley, and DeWayne Brumley; two sisters, Bobbie Cutrer, and Doris Procell, all of Many; and father-in-law, Percy Alford of Florien.
