All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Mrs. Faye Patrick Alford Services for Mrs. Faye Patrick Alford, 76, of Sarepta, were held at 10 a.m., Tuesday, Jan. 4, 1994, at the New Sarepta Baptist Church, where she was an active member. Rev. Scott Teutsch, Rev. Guy Murphrey, and Rev. Marty Wright officiated. Burial was in the Springhill Cemetery, with services under the direction of Bailey Mortuary, Springhill. Mrs. Alford, a native of Many, and a resident of Sarepta for 57 years, passed away Sunday, Jan. 2, in Springhill, after a long illness. She was a graduate of the La. Normal School (Northwestern). She was a retired school teacher with 39 years service at the Sarepta School, coaching girls basketball from 1937 to 1942, and teaching the second, third, and sixth grades. Survivors include her husband, with whom she had celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on June 14, 1993, C. G. (Buck) Alford; daughter and son-in-law, Nelda and Stan Loyd of Pascagoula, Miss.; son and daughter-in-law, Carroll P. (Jabo), and Glenda Alford of Sarepta; grandchildren, Susan and Becky Loyd, Dana Garner and husband Wayne, and John Alford; great grandson, Jamie Garner; and a brother, E. M. Patrick of Many.
