Funeral services were held Friday, June 7, at 11 a.m., at the Many United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Wayne Reeves, and the Rev. Bill Sirman officiating. Burial was at the Ft. Jesup Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Alene Alford of Many; four sons, Walker R. Alford, Dan Alford, Larry Alford, and Steve Alford, all of Many; two daughters, Mrs. Garland Lovelace of Marble Falls, Tex., and Mrs. Tommy Joe Andries of Many; seven sisters, Mrs. Clio Pugh, Mrs. Lelia Lowe, Mrs. Addie Petty, and Mrs. Ola Ellison, all of Many, Mrs. Ruth Dees, and Mrs. Audrey Wenner, both of Lake Charles, and Mrs. Grace Broussard of Lake Arthur, La.; and 11 grandchildren. Pallbearers were Oscar Alford, Rayburn Marshall, Buddy Dees, Dove Patrick, Hubert Andries, Les Lites, Kenneth Walker, and H. S. DeLatin.
