The Sabine Index - Ernest L. Allen

  14 Sep 1967 - Ernest L. Allen died at 7:30 p.m. Friday at
Baton Rouge General Hospital. He was 69 years old and a resident
of Sabine Parish for most of his life. He was a retired federal
employee and had worked at Fort Polk many years. Religious
services were at 2:30 p.m. Sunday, conducted by the Rev. Seam W.
Hayes with interment in Roselawn Gardens of Memory. He is
survived by his wife, the former Olive McLanahan; one son Robert
L. Allen, and daughter-in-law the former Anne Averette of Baton
Rouge; three grandchildren, Alexis, Todd and John Allen, all of
Baton Rouge; two brothers, Julius M. Allen of Baton Rouge and
Luther Allen of Alexandria. He was a member of the Baptist
Church.
