The Sabine Index - Mrs. Sallie Allen

  16 Apr 1943 - Mrs. Sallie Allen, 87, died Tuesday at the
Allen sanitarium, Converse, after a long illness.

  Funeral services were held at 4 p.m. Wednesday at Oak Grove
cemetery. The Rev. Ernest Lilly, pastor of the Mansfield Baptist
church officiated. Burial was under the direction of Drewitt
funeral home, Mansfield.

  Mrs. Allen was the wife of the late Joseph Houston Allen,
Oak Grove merchant, who died seven years ago.

  Surviving are six daughters and two sons, Mrs. A. E. Slay,
Mrs. Estelle Smith, Dr. W. G. Allen and J. H. Allen, all of
Converse; Mrs. Herman Richey of Beaumont, Texas; Mrs. Bob Thurio
of Laferia, Texas; Mrs. O. L. Sanders of Pleasant Hill, and Mrs.
B. D. Bailey of Mansfield.
