William R. Allen

  William Reece Allen of Shreveport, died at 8:30 a.m., Wednesday,
Dec. 6, at Willis-Knighton Hospital, after a long illness. He was
82.

  Graveside services and burial were at 2 p.m., Friday, Dec. 7, at
Forest Park West Cemetery, under direction of the South Side
Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home. Masonic graveside services
were observed.

  The Rev. Leland D. Wade, pastor of Lakeview United Methodist
Church, officiated.

  A native of Noble, Mr. Allen had lived in Shreveport 60 years.
He was retired as an engine mechanic for Pennzoil, and was a
member of the Lakeview United Methodist Church, and the
Queensborough Masonic Lodge.

  Survivors include his widow, Mattie Allen; two daughters, Mrs.
T. R. Sanders, and Lucille Fincher, both of Shreveport; four
sisters, Katherine Anderson, Orean Aaron, Earlean Webb, and
Mahalia Webb, all of Noble; four grandchildren, and 10 great
grandchildren.
