He was 83. A native of Mississippi, Mr. Allen was a Blanchard resident for 36 years. He was a retired carpenter. Funeral services were at 2:30 p.m., Wednesday, June 27, in the Marshall Street Chapel of Rose-Neath Funeral Home, with the Rev. Darrel Roberts, pastor of West Lake Baptist Mission, officiating. Burial was in the Blanchard Cemetery. His survivors include a son, Jewell Allen of Blanchard; four daughters, Laurie Aymond of Alexandria, Faye Arledge of Blanchard, Virginia Attaway of Blanchard, and Doris Barnett of Shreveport; three sisters, Anne Priest of Shreveport, Helen Rigdon of Coushatta, and Ellen Edwards of Harrsburg, Ark.; two brothers, Woodrow Allen of Blanchard, and J. B. Allen of Robeline; 13 grandchildren, and seven great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Steve Elliot, Frank Allen Jr., Bruce Aymond, Raymond Aymond Jr., James Asby, and Ronny Attaway.
