The Rev. Charles Shufflin, and Horace Hampton, minister of Southern Hills Church of Christ officiated. Burial was in Springridge Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, La., under the direction of Rose-Neath Funeral Home Southside Chapel. Mr. Allen, a native of Sabine Parish, La., died at 10:40 p.m., Saturday, Sept. 10, 1983, in Physicians and Surgeons Hospital, following a sudden illness. He had been a resident of Shreveport all of his life. He was a member of the Baptist Church. He is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Earlton Allen of Shreveport; his paternal grandmother, Myrtie Allen of Pleasant Hill; his maternal grandmother, Elaine Dew of Shreveport, his maternal grandfather, James D. Dew, Sr., of Bruce, Miss.; his great grandfather, P. B. Jackson of Many, La.; two sisters, Amy Allen, and Gala Allen, both of Shreveport; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of friends. Pallbearers were Ricky Seegers, Bobby Isgitt, Richard Speakers, Clinton Ebey, Fred Blyndell, and Harvey Jones.
