All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Oscar Woodrow Allen Services for Mr. Oscar Woodrow Allen, 71, of Blanchard, were held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, October 30, at Wellman Funeral Home Chapel in Blanchard. The Rev. W. L. Cockerell, pastor of Blanchard Church of the Nazarene, officiated. Burial was in Springridge Cemetery, Pleasant Hill, La. Graveside services were at 4 p.m., Tuesday. He died Saturday, October 27, 1984, at his residence, after a sudden illness. Mr. Allen, a native of Pleasant Hill, and resident of Blanchard for 30 years, was a retired heavy equipment operator. He is survived by three sons, Woodrow D. Allen of Blanchard, Roger D. Allen, and Willis B. Allen, Sr., both of Bossier City; three daughters, Sue Ordoyne of Bossier City, Janice Nixon of Shreveport, and Sandra Lewis of Bossier City; one brother, J. B. Allen of Marthaville, La.; three sisters, Helen Rigdon of Coushatta, La., Ellen Edwards of Harrisburg, Arkansas, and Ann Priest of Shreveport; 23 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren. Pallbearers were Thurman Biles, Aubrey Mitchell, Greg Allen, Ted Allen, Roger House, and Pete Gray.
