Columbus Allen

  Services for Mr. Columbus Allen, 88, were held at 11 a.m.,
Saturday, September 23, at the Macedonia Baptist Church in
Benton. Burial will be at Calvary Cemetery in Benton. Mr. Allen
passed away Thursday, September 14, at his residence, following a
lengthy illness.

  Mr. Allen is survived by a devoted wife of 62 years, Mrs. Bertha
Mary Allen; four daughters, Mildred Pinkney of Shreveport,
Dorothy Jamison of Bossier City, Edna Johnson of Los Angeles,
California, and Deloris Jack of Alberta, Canada; three sons,
Columbus Allen Jr., and Roy Allen, both of Los Angeles,
California, and Joe Allen of Shreveport; one brother, Leon Allen
of Shreveport; one sister, Myrtis Robinson of Zwolle; and a host
of relatives and friends.
