D. C. (Doc) Allen

  Mayor D. C. (Doc) Allen of Winnfield, died Monday at a Winnfield
hospital. Allen had been elected as Mayor in 1950, and was
serving his third term. He had been a member of the State Police
from 1928 to 1940, and was Captain when he left that post.

  Funeral services were held Wednesday at 2:30, from the First
Baptist Church of Winnfield, with Dr. W. L. Holcomb officiating.
Interment was in the Winnfield Cemetery.

  Mayor Allen is survived by his wife, Mary; two sons, D. C. Allen
Jr. of Winnfield, and Alton Allen of Los Angeles, Calif.; one
daughter, Frankie Ann Allen of Memphis, Tenn.; three brothers,
Ernest Allen of Many, Julius Allen of Baton Rouge, and Luther
Allen of Alexandria.
