She was a native of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania, and a graduate of Mercy Hospital School of Nursing, and Duquesne University of Pittsburgh. She worked at Mercy Hospital, and then served in Europe as a 1st Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps during World War II. Tillie married Harold W. Andries in Mourmelon France in 1945. After discharge, they returned to reside in Many. Tillie was an active member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, and the mother of five children. She taught third grade at St. John's Catholic School in 1966, and later worked as a Registered Nurse at Fraser Hospital for approximately ten years. Father Ken Williams, and Monsignor Norman Buvens concelebrated a Funeral Mass on Thursday, August 31, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Many, with interment at St. John's Cemetery. Pallbearers were Matt Tarver, John Dean, Tommy Joe Andries, John Andries, Robert Andries, and Pat Gandy. Tillie was a resident of Many for forty-five years, and is survived by her husband, Harold; daughters, Mary Beth Tarver, and Jo Anne Boydston of Many, Margaret Preston of Dallas, Texas, Catherine "Sissy" Rankin of Bryan, Texas; her son, Bill Andries of Many; fourteen grandchildren; and two sisters, Clara Greer of Denver, Colorado, and Rita Lehman of Glenshaw, Pennsylvania.
