Anderson Jr., 74, of DeRidder, died Sunday, Feb. 22, 1998, at 3:15 p.m., in St. Patrick Hospital, Lake Charles. Funeral services were held at 2 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 24, at Grace Church in DeRidder, with interment following at Beauregard Cemetery in DeRidder. The Rev. George L. Glass Jr., the Rev. C. E. Cooley Jr., and A. W. Buie officiated. Mr. Anderson was a native of Zwolle. He was a lifelong resident of DeRidder since 1936. He was a veteran of the U. S. Navy during WWII, where he was awarded the Purple Heart. He was a retired school teacher, and a local businessman. He graduated with a BA in agriculture from LSU, Baton Rouge, and received his master's degree in education from McNeese State University. Survivors include his widow, Marie Cooley Anderson of DeRidder; two sons, Perry W. "Skip" Anderson III, and C. Kerry Anderson, both of DeRidder; two brothers, Harry J. Anderson, and C. Homer Anderson Sr., both of DeRidder; four sisters, Amalie A. Smith, Clarice A. Burkett, Ora A. Dion, and Naomi A. "Sis" Glass, all of DeRidder. Beauregard-Vernon Funeral Home, DeRidder, La.
