All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** Larry Wayne Ammons (Photo) Funeral services for Larry Wayne Ammons, 39, of Lafayette, were held at the First United Methodist Church of Many, on Sunday, January 24, at 2 p.m. The Rev. Hulen Warren, church pastor, and the Rev. John Koelemay officiated at the services. Also participating was the Rev. Larry Norman. Burial followed in the Many Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Monte Ammons, Mac Ammons, and Spencer Redburn, all nephews; Joel Palmer, Jeffery Anders, Garthe Wright, Ken Barnhill, and Thomas Zeddie. Mr. Ammons died in Lafayette on Thursday, Jan. 21, at his residence. He had undergone extensive heart surgery in 1990. A native of Many, Ammons was a 1972 graduate of Many High School. As the youngest son of the late Cliff Ammons, he spent many hours helping to work and develop Toledo Bend Lake. Following graduation, he attended Louisiana State University for a year. Before joining the United States Navy. He served honorably from 1973 through 1979, living onboard ships, and traveling extensively in the Mediterranean. An electronic extraordinaire, Mr. Ammons worked in the field of developing computerized oilfield equipment. Survivors include his widow, Connie Fay Ammons of Lafayette; a stepdaughter, Tammy, also of Lafayette; two stepsons, Brandon, and Sheldon of Orange, Tex.; his mother, Mrs. Ethel Ammons of Many; two sisters, Dr. Dianna Drew Redburn of Houston, Tex., and Suzanne Jeanne Ammons of Many; two brothers, Robert Dale Ammons, and Kenneth Ellis Ammons, both of Many; two sisters-in-law, Connie Wright Ammons, and Donna Smith Ammons, both of Many; a brother-in-law, Ray Redburn of Houston, Tex.; one niece, Karen Ammons of Many; and five nephews, Monte Ammons of Houston, Tex., Spencer Redburn of Houston, Tex., and Max Ammons, David Ammons, and Paul Ammons, all of Many.
