She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church of Zwolle, and was a homemaker. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Jan. 10, at First United Pentecostal Church of Zwolle, with interment following at Bethsadia Cemetery. The Rev. Phillip North officiated. Survivors include his mother, Agnes Bridges Lopez of Stonewall; two sons, Delmar Ammons Jr. and wife Joanna of Zwolle, and Kevin Ammons and wife Jeannine of Natchitoches; two daughters, Shonnie Montgomery and husband Loy, and Nelda Hicks and husband Sherald, both of Many; two sisters, Frances Sullivan of Gonzales, and Rebecca Paddie of Stonewall; four brothers, J. C. Self of Jasper, Texas, Sonny Self of Zwolle, Harold Self of Woodville, and Bob Self of Odessa, Texas; seven grandchildren; five great grandchildren; four step grandchildren; eight great step grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends. Mrs. Ammons was preceded in death by her husband, Delmar Ammons Sr.; father, Joseph Self; brothers, James Self, and Cleve Self; and sister, Evelyn Welch.
