He was a retired Federal Civil Service employee. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 30 at Pendleton Assembly of God Church with interment following at Pendleton Cemetery. The Rev. Max McGough officiated and the Rev. C. W. Holeyfield and the Rev. D. E. Stroud assisted. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Norita Ayers of Many; one daughter Alice Etoye Woods and husband, Lawrence of Grand Cane; 12 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great-grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews. Mr. Ayers was preceded in death by his first wife, Liddie Oliver Ayers; three daughters, Eloise Ayers, Lavella Ayers and Malva Marie Thompson; three brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, memorials be sent to the Pendleton Assembly of God Building Fund, 14152 Texas Hwy. in Many. Les Fontaine Many, La.
