Ayers, 63, of Many, died on Wednesday, July 24, at 7:45 p.m., in Many, after a short illness. Funeral services were held on Saturday, July 27, at 10 a.m., at the Pendleton Assembly of God Church, with the Rev. B. L. Dinkins, the Rev. C. W. Holefield, and the Rev. C. E. Bell officiating. Burial was in the Pendleton Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include her husband, Mr. C. E. Ayers of Many; 2 daughters, Mrs. Otis Thompson of Merryville, and Mrs. L. M. Woods of Natchitoches; his mother, Mrs. Lula Oliver of Many; 2 brothers, Franklin Oliver of Negreet, and Wylie Charles Oliver of Shreveport; 4 sisters, Mrs. Mary Starks of Florien, Mrs. Pearl Longoria of Merryville, Mrs. Bell Roberts of Merryville, and Mrs. Esther Tyler of Blanchard; 13 grandchildren, and 5 great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews.
