She was 70. Funeral services were held at Beulah Baptist Church, Tuesday, Feb. 23, at 2 p.m., with Rev. Freddie Hippler officiating. Interment was at Beulah Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Pallbearers were Ezra Powell, Robert Ayers, Curtis Hippler, Mark Hippler, Steve Gentry, and Randy Freeman. Mrs. Ayers is survived by three sons, James P. Hippler of Richmond, Tex., DeWayne Hippler of Shreveport, and Mike Ayers of Crosby, Tex.; two step sons, Harold Ayers of Houston, and Elton Ayers of Crosby, Tex.; six daughters, Evon Wrobleski of Buffalo, N. Y., Shirley Freeman of Liberty, Maine, Melva Hayes of Hayes, La., Wanda Barrett of Atlanta, Tex., Virginia Ortilla of Pearlriver, La., and Tammie McDaniel of Grand Cane; four step daughters, Lela Jeans of Anacoco, Johnnie Belle Dyess of Shreveport, and Essie Lee Gentry, and Dolly Dean Batson, both of Many; four brothers, James V. Powell of Florien, Henry D. Powell of Sulphur, Marvin Powell of Merryville, and Clarence Powell of Edna, Tex.; three sisters, Marion Lay of Carthage, Tex., Adeitha Mae Newman, and Maudie Ola Canterbury, both of Florien; 65 grandchildren; and a number of great grandchildren.
