He expired after a brief illness on February 18, 2000 in Houston, Texas. Jimmy was 54 years old. A resident of Houston he played piano professionally. This was nurtured from an early age when he played and served as pianist and organist for the First Baptist Church in Many. He later served as music director for the First Baptist Church in Many and Haynesville. Jimmy also taught music at Negreet and Ebarb High School. As his musical efforts grew, he moved to Houston, Texas and later to San Francisco, Calif. where he played and recorded professionally. He is survived by a brother, Thomas C. Arthur of Many; cousins, Linda K. Honeycutt of Alabama, and Mark Jordan of Many; and a host of friends. He is preceded in death by his father, Bernice C. Arthur, and his mother Helen F. Arthur; grandmother Ida Mae Arthur; and aunts Chester Mae Jordan and Kathlene Maricelli. Services will be at Warren Medows's Chapel on Sunday, February 27 at 2 p.m.
