All rights reserved. http://usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://usgwarchives.net/la/lafiles.htm ********************************************** The Sabine Index - Nettie Stroud Arthur 26 Aug 1938 - Funeral services for Mrs. Nettie Stroud Arthur were held Wednesday evening, August 17, at 3 o'clock with Rev. Ernest Lilly of Florien and Rev. Julius McCormic of Gandy officiating. Interment was in Beulah cemetery. Mrs. Arthur died Tuesday evening at the home of her son, Jeff Arthur, on Route One after a short illness. She was born in Negreet in September, 1864. She joined the Baptist church at Siloam early in life and lived a faithful Christian life to the end. She has been a resident of Sabine parish all of her life. A number of years ago she was married to H. A. Arthur. Ten children were born to this union, five of whom are living. Her immediate survivors include: her husband H. A. Arthur, Many Route One; three sons, Jeff of Many Route One, Hoyt of Negreet, and Levie of Fort Sam Houton, San Antonio, Texas; two daughters, Mrs. George Miller of Negreet and Mrs. Grady Parrott of California; two brothers J. P. Stroud and E. R. Stroud of Negreet; 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. The pallbearers were the following nephews, Claudie Neel, Cecil Ross, Raymond Stroud, Percy Stroud, Roy Stroud and Don Stroud, all of Negreet.
