Bessie E. Arthur

  Services for Mrs. Bessie E. Arthur, 87, of Conroe, was held at
10 a.m., Monday, October 25, at the Toro Baptist Church in Toro.
Rev. Ed Smith officiated. Burial was in Toro Cemetery.

  Mrs. Arthur, born August 27, 1895, in Robeline, died Friday,
October 22, 1982, in Houston, Tex., after a lengthy illness.

  She is survived by one daughter, Bernice Thaxton of Conroe,
Tex.; two sons, Noel E. Arthur of Conroe, and Norman E. Arthur of
Meridian, Miss.; two brothers, Walton Carter of Many, and Jimmy
Carter of Glenmora; one sister, Viola Dixon of Forest Hill; 10
grandchildren; 21 great grandchildren.

  Pallbearers: grandsons.
