Officiating the service was Rev. Jerry Arthur, pastor of Central Christian Baptist Church. Mrs. Arthur passed away at Heritage Manor Nursing Home #1, Wednesday, June 6, in Many, after a long illness. Mrs. Arthur was a veteran of the U.S. Army Nursing Corp, 2nd Lt. She was honored with full military funeral, including a flag draped casket, and color guard. Taps were played during a 21 gun salute. She was a Baptist, and a member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Sunset Acres Chapter, and the Ladies Oriental Shrine. Memorials may be made to the donor's choice. Mrs. Arthur is survived by her husband, Grover P. Arthur of Noble; two daughters, Amanda (PeeWee) Arthur Earle of Texas City, Texas, and Susan Arthur Hoffman of Shreveport; four sisters, Helen Puckett, Ruth Harrilson, and Mary Wright, all of Houston, Texas, and Bobbie Prince of Shreveport; one brother, Dutch Flanakin of Houston, Texas; and three grandchildren.
