Armstrong 28 Sep 1934 - Paul F. Armstrong, 43, Beaumont, Texas, died Tuesday afternoon at 1:45 o'clock in a sanitarium of that city from wounds he received in a gun battle Monday evening at 5:30 o'clock, about 16 miles north of Beaumont. The sheriff of Kountze, Texas as is holding two others until a complete investigation of the shooting scrape can be found out. Armstrong, according to his own statements Monday night, returned fire upon his killers in self-defense. The body of Mr. Armstrong arrived in Many Wednesday afternoon in Many Wednesday afternoon at 3:23 on the K.C.S. Funeral services were held at the family residence in Many at 2:30 p.m. Thursday with the Rev. J. B. Williams and Rev. W. T. Gray, pastor of the Methodist church, officiating. Interment was in the Many cemetery. Surviving the deceased are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W. H. Armstrong of Many; three sisters, Mrs. J. D. German and Mrs. C. R. Laird of Many and Mrs. L. B. Shadion of Sour Lake, Texas; four brothers, R. M. Armstrong of Thompson, Texas; W. H. Armstrong, Jr., of Monroe, Amos Lee Armstrong of Shreveport, and C. E. Armstrong of Kilgore, Texas.
