Armstrong, 53, of Zwolle, died in a Shreveport hospital on Friday, July 25, at 7 a.m., following a short illness. Armstrong is survived by his widow, Helen Armstrong of Zwolle; five sons, Charles Monroe Armstrong Jr. of Lufkin, Texas, Lloyd Wayne Armstrong of Shreveport, and Alan Ray Armstrong, Keith Armstrong, and Kelly Armstrong, all of Zwolle; two daughters, Mrs. Joyce Bailey of Shreveport, and Miss Brenda Armstrong of Zwolle; his father and stepmother, D. W. Armstrong, and Mrs. Ollie Bell Armstrong; four grandchildren; two brothers, D. W. Armstrong Jr. of New Orleans, and Glenn Armstrong of Bossier City; two sisters, Mrs. Mabel Sanchez of New Orleans, and Mrs. Corine Juneau of Bunkie; three half brothers, Rufus Armstrong, and Riley Armstrong, both of New Orleans, and Don Armstrong of Zwolle; ten half sisters, Mrs. Lucille Carlton of Ranger, Texas, Mrs. JoAnn Youngblood, Mrs. Hattie Ruth Chambers, Miss Betty Jo Armstrong, Mrs. Mary Campbell, and Miss Nelda Jean Armstrong, all of Zwolle, Mrs. Charlotte Wedgeworth, and Mrs. Linda Anthony, both of Many, Mrs. Darlene Knippers of Robeline, and Mrs. Genevie Morgan of Natchitoches. Funeral services were held at the Aimwell Baptist Church on Sunday, July 27, with the Rev. J. O. Brossette officiating. Burial was in the Aimwell Cemetery, under the direction of the Warren Meadows Funeral Home.
