Armstrong 8 Feb 1946 - Funeral rites for Mrs. W. H. Armstrong, age 86 years, were held 3:30 p.m. last Thursday at Many Methodist church. Rev. Sam Nader officiated, assisted by Rev. J. C. Clement. Interment was in Many cemetery, Massingill funeral home in charge. Pallbearers were: Robert B. Jackson, J. B. Vandegaer, T. M. Phillips, J. S. Pickett, A. G. Dees, D. D. Thedford. (Long list of honorary pallbearers) Surviving are: three daughters, Mrs. John D. German and Miss Daisy Armstrong of Many, Mrs. Owen W. Morris, Liberty, Texas; two sons, Amos Lee Armstrong of Shreveport, Chris E. Armstrong, Baird, Texas; brother, W. F. Rachal, Orange, Texas; sister, Mrs. S. L. Livingston, Beaumont, Texas; 11 grandchildren. Mrs. Armstrong was born at Fort Jesup, spent her entire life in Sabine parish, being the widow of the late Judge W. H. Armstrong who was justice of the peace of Ward 4 for many years. Mrs. Armstrong had three sons who served in World War I and one son and six grandsons in World War II.
