Armstrong, 59, died in New Orleans Thursday, July 29, at 8:30 p.m., after an extended illness. Funeral services were held Sunday, July 31, at Aimwell Baptist Church, beginning at 2 p.m. Officiating, was the Rev. Charles Duncan. Burial was in the Aimwell Cemetery, under the direction of Warren Meadows Funeral Home. Survivors include his step-mother, Mrs. Ollie Bell Armstrong of Zwolle; five brothers, Dennis W. Armstrong of Kenner, Glen F. Armstrong of Bossier City, John Riley Armstrong of Metairie, Pvt. Donald Wayne Armstrong of Memphis, Tenn., and Willie Gene Armstrong of Zwolle; twelve sisters, Nelda Jean Armstrong, Betty Jo Armstrong, Hattie Ruth Chambers, Jo Ann Youngblood, and Mary Lynn Campbell, all of Zwolle, Linda Fay Anthony, and Charlotte Wedgeworth, both of Many, Genevieve Morgan of Natchitoches, Darlene Knippers of Robeline, Mable Sanchez of Metairie, Corrine Juneau of Evergreen, La., and Lucille Patton of Ranger, Tex.; and a host of nieces and nephews.
