Armstrong, 55, of Shreveport, were at 10 a.m., Wednesday, July 5, at Trinity Presbyterian Church, with the Rev. George Walker, pastor, officiating. Burial was in Forest Park Cemetery, under direction of Wellman Funeral Home. Mr. Armstrong died at 9:50 p.m., Saturday, July 1, in Pilgrim Manor Nursing Home, after a short illness. A native of Monroe, and a carpenter, Mr. Armstrong had lived in Shreveport for 32 years. He was an elder of Trinity Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his widow, Irene M. Armstrong; one son, Barton Armstrong of Shreveport; two daughters, Connie Watts of Ruston, and Susan Armstrong of Shreveport; his mother, Willie Mae Armstrong of Monroe; one brother, Billy Armstrong of Many; and one grandson. Pallbearers were Robert L. Smith, Arthur B. Franks, Kahil Ferris, Lin Sorrellos, F. G. Searcy, and William Meirer. The family requests that any memorials be donated to Trinity Presbyterian Church.
