Mrs. Annie Slaton Arnold

  Services for Mrs. Annie Slaton Arnold, 89, were held at 2 p.m.,
Friday, August 18, 1995, at Progress Presbyterian Church,
Pleasant Hill.

  Officiating was Coiley Gewin, assisted by the Rev. Hugh Hannah,
pastor of Progress Presbyterian Church. Burial was in Progress
Cemetery, Pleasant Hill.

  Mrs. Arnold, a homemaker and native of Sabine Parish, died at
11:50 p.m., Tuesday, August 15, 1995, at Schumpert Medical Center
in Shreveport, after a lengthy illness.

  She was the last of a prominent family of the early 1930's - The
Rev. and Mrs. Jasper Slaton of Sabine Parish. She was preceded in
death by her husband of 50 years, Sam Arnold; and a grandson,
Ryan Lane Pruett.

  Survivors include daughter, Rita and husband Felton Pruett;
grandsons, Rod Pruett, Randy Pruett and wife Cindy, Ragen Pruett
and wife Sandra; great grandson, Robby Pruett and wife Jennifer;
great-great grandson, Blake Pruett; and a host of nieces and
nephews.
