Funeral services were held at 10 a.m., Thursday, Dec. 24, at Prewitt's Chapel in Hornbeck, with interment following at Prewitts Chapel Cemetery in Hornbeck. The Rev. Kenneth Baggs, and the Rev. Huey Haymon officiated. Mr. Airhart was a native and lifelong resident of Hornbeck. He worked for Brown-Root Construction Company for 35 years. He was a member of the Prewitt's Chapel Baptist Church, a member of the Hornbeck Masonic Lodge #253, and Katherine B. Chapter #31, and Order of the Eastern Star in Hornbeck. Survivors include his widow, Carol Airhart of Hornbeck; four sons, William Airhart, Johnny Airhart, and Peanut Airhart, all of Hornbeck, and James Airhart of Anacoco; three daughters, Elizabeth Wanjura, and Melissa Sanders of Hornbeck, and Candy Studdard of Marietta, Ga.; one brother, Claude Ray Airhart of Hornbeck; two sisters, Iva Lee Smart of Leesville, and Juanita Brown of Hornbeck; 19 grandchildren; and two great grandchildren.
