The Sabine Index - Laurene Warren Barr

  4 Apr 1941 - Funeral rites for Laurene Warren Barr, age 17, who
died in Fort Douglas, Utah, March 21, were held at Bayou Scie
church near Zwolle March 27, with burial in Bayou Scie cemetery.
Funeral arrangements were in charge of Dennis-Green funeral home
of Many with the Rev. St. Andre and Rev. Joe Flanagan
officiating.

  Surviving are his parents, Mr. and Mrs. M. M. Barr; one brother,
Bobby Joe Barr; and two sisters Dorothy and Edna Earl Barr, all
of Zwolle.

years, were held at Oxley cemetery Sunday, Rev. Fortenberry of
Fisher officiating, Dennis-Green funeral home in charge of
funeral. Interment in Oxley cemetery.

  Surviving: five sons, Henry, Tim, Hezakiah, Jim and Edward;
daughters, Mrs. Mason Simmons, Mrs. Tom Brumley, Mrs. Jeff Hayes;
36 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren.

  25 Apr 1941 - Last rites for Mrs. Susan Powell, age 57 years
were held at Toro last Friday with Rev. Henry Chance officiating
with Rev. McComic assisting. Dennis-Green funeral home directing
interment in the Toro cemetery.

  Surviving are husband, William A. Powell and ten children, 5
sons, Durward, James, Dewitt, Marvin and Clarence; 5 daughters,
Mrs. Edith Newman, Mrs. Lena Hippler, Mrs. Gennie Lee Brumfield,
Mrs. Maudie Craft and Miss Zelma Powell.

  11 Apr 1941 - Last rites for Mrs. Mary E. Salter, age 68 years,
were held at Antioch Wednesday at 10 o'clock. Rev. W.G. Bailey
officiating, Dennis-Green funeral home directing, Interment
Antioch Cemetery.

  Surviving are three children: two sons, Ross and Ponder Salter,
and daughter, Mrs. J. L. Leach, a brother, W.T. Cook, sister,
Mrs. W. E. Gandy, six grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

  11 Apr 1941 - Funeral services for William Z. Teasley of Many
route four were held Monday, April 7, with Rev. W. G. Bailey
officiating. Burial was in the Fort Jesup cemetery.

  Mr. Teasley is survived by ten children, W. H. Teasley,
Bryceland,; O. C. Teasley, Holopaw, Fla.; E. N. Teasley, Many
route four; E. G. Teasley, Many route four; E. B. Teasley,
Carvillis, Ore.; Mrs. Betty Page, Natchitoches; Mrs. Mamie
Firesheets, Fisher; Mrs. Pearl Turner, Provencal; Mrs. Jocie
Smith, Tiptow, Okla.; Mrs. Lillian Peterson, Many route four; 49
grandchildren and 38 great-grandchildren.

  On August 1 1857, Mr. Teasley was born in Lincoln parish. He
came to Sabine parish about 30 years ago. He was a member of the
Primitive Baptist church.
